Construction Waste Management
Ben Franklin TechVentures2 was designed and constructed using the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System. This standard promotes sustainability in building design, construction, and operation. To address LEED’s construction waste measure, the construction team for TechVentures2 implemented a construction waste management plan. This diverted construction debris from disposal in landfills and incinerators through recycling and salvage. Construction, renovation, and demolition activities generate significant quantities of solid waste, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency.
