Ben Franklin TechVentures LEED: Encourage Alternative Transportation

Posted September 22, 2011 in Ben Franklin News

Encourage Alternative Transportation

Ben Franklin TechVentures2 was designed and constructed using the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System. This standard promotes sustainability in building design, construction, and operation. To address LEED’s alternative transportation measure, TechVentures2 offers secure bicycle racks as well as showers and changing rooms to encourage occupants to ride bicycles to work. Cycling is an environmentally friendly alternative to automobiles because it reduces fuel consumption, traffic congestion, and air and noise pollution while concurrently encouraging fitness among workers.
