In 2016, the PA Department of Community and Economic Development implemented several programs to support Gov. Wolf’s “Jobs that Pay” priority. One of its initiatives, the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority, has been responsible for creating more than 25,000 PA jobs and retaining 32,400 more. Through its Innovate in PA and annual Challenge Grant programs that fund the Ben Franklin statewide network, DCED deployed $43.5 million to support Pennsylvania’s emerging technology companies that created hundreds of new high-paying jobs.
