Carbondale Technology Transfer Center Open House

First Electronics Makerspace in Northeastern PA

The Carbondale Technology Transfer Center (CTTC), a member of the Ben Franklin Business Incubator Network, is the first-of-its-kind electronics makerspace in the region. CTTC is hosting an open house for engineers, entrepreneurs and others who are interested in manufacturing electronics in northeastern Pennsylvania on Thursday, June 25, 2015, 4:00 to 7:00 PM at CTTC, 10 Enterprise Drive, Carbondale.

The CTTC allows users to rent time in the lab and use the tools to design, build and manufacture electronics. The space can be rented by the hour or day and offers a cost-effective alternative to contract manufacturers for prototyping and small manufacturing runs.

The small-scale manufacturing environment has the equipment and facilities that engineers and electronics entrepreneurs require to develop their electronics. The pick-and-place system is suitable for prototyping and small-scale runs of electronics. The CTTC incubator has the following DDM Novastar equipment:

There is also workspace, complete with microscope, for reworking.

Hosted by the CTTC, the first maker space tenant, Ben Franklin Technology Partners client Prova Systems’ Fleet Genius staff will be available to demonstrate the system and answer questions during the open house hours.

During the open house visitors can also tour the kitchen incubator housed in the same facility. For additional information, contact the CTTC at 570-282-1255 or paul@cttc.org.
