Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania is proud to share that President and CEO Angelo Valletta has been appointed Board Chair of the American Red Cross Rivers Chapter Board of Directors, beginning his term in July 2025.
The Rivers Chapter serves communities across Eastern Pennsylvania, delivering vital services including disaster relief, blood collection, health and safety training, and support for military families. As Chair, Valletta will help guide the chapter’s strategic vision and strengthen its impact throughout the region.
A Long-Standing Commitment to the Red Cross
Valletta’s connection to the Red Cross spans more than a decade. He joined the Philadelphia Chapter’s Board of Directors in 2011, serving nearly three full terms there. In 2016, his service was recognized with the Anita Lockwood Leadership Award from the Red Cross of Eastern Pennsylvania, honoring his dedication to advancing the organization’s mission.
Since 2021, Valletta has been a valued member of the Rivers Chapter Board of Directors. His appointment as Chair reflects both his deep experience with the Red Cross and his commitment to strengthening communities across Pennsylvania.
A Shared Mission of Service
For Valletta, the role underscores the connection between economic growth and community resilience.
“The Red Cross is about people helping people in their greatest time of need. At Ben Franklin, we’re helping innovators, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers build solutions that strengthen our region’s economy and improve the lives of our neighbors,” said Valletta. “Whether it’s a startup advancing new healthcare technologies, a manufacturer improving safety equipment, or the Red Cross responding to a disaster, these efforts all serve the same goal: ensuring our communities are stronger, healthier, and better prepared for the future.”
This alignment between innovation and humanitarian service highlights Valletta’s belief that thriving economies and resilient communities go hand-in-hand. His expanded leadership role with the Red Cross reflects his dedication to both economic and community resilience, ensuring that Northeastern Pennsylvania remains strong in times of crisis and in times of growth.
