
Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania (Ben Franklin Northeast) has released its 2025 annual report, highlighting a year of strategic investments designed to refresh, retain, and reimagine jobs across its 21-county region.
In fiscal year 2024–2025, Ben Franklin Northeast approved $5,284,285 in funding to support 86 companies, with investments spanning early-stage technology firms, established manufacturers, and a robust business incubator network.
The report showcases portfolio companies that demonstrate the breadth of innovation taking place in northeastern Pennsylvania. Featured stories include Hyrding, which is using an AI-enabled platform to transform documentation workflows in regulated industries; BreakSight, which is advancing genomic analysis and cancer research; and IHE Bev’s New Trail Brewing, which is pairing craft beer with community-focused growth. These companies illustrate how Ben Franklin Northeast’s support helps translate novel ideas into jobs, revenue, and long-term regional impact.
Beyond investment capital, the annual report highlights programs that strengthen the region’s innovation pipeline. Initiatives such as the Solutions Network, SPARK Mentorship Program, Tiger Sessions, and the Aspiring Innovators Internship Program connect entrepreneurs and manufacturers with seasoned advisors, student talent, and specialized expertise to help them navigate key stages of growth. One spotlight features an Aspiring Innovators intern whose summer placement with NovaData Solutions helped the company refine its financial strategy and investor outreach while providing real-world startup experience.
The report also underscores the power of Ben Franklin’s Business Incubator Network, one of the largest in the United States, which supports startups in 15 member locations across the region. Stories such as the reopening of East Stroudsburg University’s Innovation Center demonstrate how collaborative partners are building resilient entrepreneurial hubs that anchor technology-based companies and high-value jobs in local communities.
