When I launched Saladax Biomedical Inc. in 2004, we planned to locate in New Jersey. But New Jersey didn’t offer us the support we needed, so we started in Ben Franklin’s business incubator in Bethlehem. Ben Franklin invested in us, introduced us to experts and advised us through many startup issues. We went on to earn 28 U.S. patents, raise more than $57 million in follow-on equity funding, and launch numerous products worldwide. But PA is not keeping pace in investing in innovation, according to a new report by the Brookings Institution. Opinion by Saladax CEO Sal Salamone, via The Morning Call.
