Celebrating PA Manufacturing Day — October 1

The Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/NEP) joins the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development in celebrating Pennsylvania Manufacturing Day on October 1, 2021. Manufacturing is at the heart of Pennsylvania’s economy. (PA Dept. of L&I, QCEW, Q4 2020; bea.gov Regional Economic Accounts Q4 2020)
• 8th largest manufacturing industry in the United States
• $92.7 billion in gross domestic product (GDP) in 2020
• 536,300+ employees (accounting for ~11% of all private
sector jobs in PA)
• 14,400+ manufacturing establishments

As part of its core mission, BFTP/NEP invests in established manufacturers that are interested in employing sophisticated techniques and technology to become more competitive in the global marketplace.

We support manufacturers in several ways. First, we focus on long-term, enterprise-wide solutions to sustain growth. The work is usually technology development or application driven, with the goal to make the client’s product or manufacturing process better, faster, and at a lower cost. This helps the company to compete internationally through technology and efficiency.

Second, we link our clients to cutting-edge, college/university-based resources and apply their expertise in innovative ways. BFTP/NEP encourages the formation of lasting relationships between manufacturers and college/university partners, thereby facilitating long-term results. Finally, we offer 1:1 matching investments of $25,000 to $50,000 over up to three years, depending on the size of the company.  Learn more about BFTP/NEP’s work with established manufacturers.
